There is a question that has echoed down through the corridors of church history, asked in cathedrals and cottages, whispered by seekers and debated by scholars: "Is keeping the Ten Commandments the same as being born again?" It is a question that sounds simple on the surface, yet beneath it lies the very foundation upon which every soul must stand or fall.

By examining the account of the rich young ruler and of Nicodemus, and identifying the two governing principles of the Kingdom of God, this course exists to answer one of the most important questions ever asked concerning salvation: "Is keeping or obeying the commandments the same as being born again (saved)?"

Sometimes when we study the Bible, if we are not careful enough we can miss a lot of things because of lack of understanding of the scriptures. For example, you know some people say, “I obey the commandments so am born again.” You see, It’s really amazing how that many believe that obeying the Commandments is the same as being born again or being saved. It’s sounds interesting to think like that. However, obeying the Commandments and being born again aren’t the same. It is important you know that it is possible to keep the  commandments and still not be saved.

This course exists to answer that question "Is keeping or obeying the commandments the same as being born again (saved)?" not with human opinion, but with the unwavering testimony of Scripture itself. This course presents an in-depth biblical and revelational study, delivered across four lessons, each followed by an assessment and set within the context of salvation.

COURSE OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

1. Distinguish between keeping the commandments and being born again.

2. Identify the true Fulfiller of the commandments and the Scriptures.

3. Articulate the two fundamental principles of salvation.

4. Explain the priorities of Jesus Christ regarding the commandments and the new birth.

5. Develop a settled, unshakable conviction of the surety of personal salvation in Christ.

6. Equip others with the surety of their salvation as part of the ongoing missionary work of Christianity.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

This course equips ministers of the Gospel and all Christians engaged in the missionary work of Christianity with a comprehensive and unwavering understanding of the surety of salvation in Christ Jesus, by answering the most important question ever asked within the context of salvation: "Is keeping the commandments the same as being born again, or saved?"
